genARate Studio currently supports different video types and formats. There might be special requirements for special usecases and therefore choose the type you need. To get detailed information regarding the types listed below, click on the links.

Video files from your local directory

Videos directly from Vimeo


Video files from your local directory

  • Note: Note: Only videos in mp4 format are allowed; Video has to be fully downloaded on users phone before it starts playing.

Settings

ATTRIBUTES

  • Label: Add text to your video box

  • Name: The name of your uploaded video

  • Title background color: change the color of your background

  • Icon and Text color: change the color of your text and icon

CONTENT

  • Source: Name of uploaded source file and button to replace uploaded video “on the fly”

  • Loop Video: Toggle automatic repeat of the video.

Note: You can replace your choosen video in the content tab.


Video directly from Youtube

Note: Different to videos from local directory, Youtube Videos are streamed while video already starts playing.

How to embed:

Step 1: Copy and paste the video link directly from YouTube.

Step 2: Select the desired upload option and start the upload. After successful upload a preview thumbnail of the video will be displayed in the scenario editor.

Step 3: Click on the thumbnail inside the scenario editor to move/position the element via drag & drop and to access the settings.

Videos directly from Vimeo

Note: Different to videos from local directory, Vimeo Videos are streamed while video already starts playing.

Step 1: Copy and paste the video link directly from Vimeo. The video will be streamed from Vimeo directly during the experience, no hosting on the genARate backend needed.

Step 2: Select the desired upload option and start the upload. After successful upload a preview thumbnail of the video will be displayed in the scenario editor.

Step 3: Click on the thumbnail inside the scenario editor to move/position the element via drag & drop and to access the settings.

Formats & Restrictions for local video:

  • Allowed types: mp4 / Youtube / Vimeo

  • File size restriction: 20MB and not larger than 1000px

  • The recommended standard size: 480p

  • The recommended bit rate: 2.5Mbps – 4Mbps (depending on the expected connectivity of the end user.)

  • For mobile use, the best option is H.264 video codec, AAC or MP3 audio codec and .MP4 as the video container.
